Data Protection Statement

The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to us. We process your data exclusively in accordance with legal regulations (GDPR, TKG 2003). In this data protection statement, we provide you with the most important aspects of data processing on our website.
We have summarized the current status regarding the use of cookies and Google Analytics for your convenience. More information and details on these topics can be found in the content below on this page.

Data Retention
Personal data that we collect and process as part of our regular business activities will not be retained longer than necessary for our business purposes or due to legal requirements. In certain cases, such as for tax and accounting purposes, we are legally obligated to store personal data even after the end of an active business relationship.

Log Data/Server Logs
With every access to our website, usage data is transmitted by the internet browser you are using and stored in log files (server log files) on the web server we use. These files include information such as the name/URL of the accessed webpage, the hostname of the requesting provider, date and time of the server request, browser type and version, operating system, and the URL of the previously visited page (referrer URL). IP addresses are only anonymized as part of this logging. The log data is used solely for statistical analysis for the purpose of website operation, security, and optimization. The merging of this log data with other data sources does not occur. We reserve the right to review this data subsequently if there are concrete indications of unlawful use.
Our hosting provider is internex GmbH, Alserbachstraße 30, 1090 Vienna.

Cookies
We use so-called cookies on our website. These are small text files that are transferred to your browser via a web server. The information stored in cookies helps us tailor the use of our website to individual needs and continuously improve our offering. We never store personal data without your consent. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. A notification banner at the bottom of our website informs you about the use of cookies. By clicking the “Understood” link, you confirm your awareness of the use of cookies on our website. The validity of this cookie confirmation is set to 365 days and will not be displayed again when revisiting our website within that time (unless you delete the cookie or access the page with a different browser).

Functionality Limitations without Cookies
If you generally restrict or block the use of cookies, certain areas and services of our website may not function as expected. Cookies already on your computer can be deleted at any time through your browser settings. The procedure varies depending on the browser. Information on this and other cookie options can be found on the websites of the respective browser providers: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Opera.

Admin Area/Login
In addition to the user area (frontend) freely accessible to every visitor, our website also has an admin area (backend) reserved exclusively for our administrators for the purpose of content and functional management of the website. We have a legitimate and heightened interest in protecting this area from unauthorized access. We employ special security measures, including temporary or potentially permanent storage of IP addresses, and blocking access, if multiple incorrect and/or unauthorized login attempts (e.g., using incorrect access data) are made from these IP addresses.

Google Fonts
For the uniform display of text content, we use Google Fonts, a service provided by Google Inc. Typically, this integration involves an external server call to Google in the USA, which is assumed to result in the collection, storage, and analysis of more extensive information, including IP addresses. For data protection reasons, we have chosen not to make such a direct connection and instead provide these fonts locally via the web server we use. If your browser does not support web fonts, one of your computer’s standard fonts will be used automatically.

IP Anonymization / Pseudonymization
Because your privacy is important to us, your user data is pseudonymized. We use the “IP Anonymization” or “anonymizeIp” function to ensure anonymous collection of IP addresses (IP masking). This involves collecting your IP address by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the European Economic Area. However, your IP address is immediately pseudonymized, for example, by deleting the last 8 bits. This allows only rough localization. In exceptional cases, IP addresses may be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will process this information on our behalf to analyze the use of our website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google.

Social Media
Some content on our website can be shared on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, XING, LinkedIn, or Google+. We use specially generated links containing all the necessary information for sharing. The usual plugins and scripts provided by social media services already lead to the immediate collection and logging of your IP address and internet activities when a website is loaded – even if none of the buttons or links have been clicked. In the method we use, a connection to the respective social network is only established by actively clicking on a social media button. Depending on whether you are already logged in with your browser, the content can then be shared and possibly commented on in a separate window. We consider your data protection interests in the area of social media sharing as far as technically feasible.

Your Rights
You have the fundamental rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation, and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection laws or that your data protection rights have been violated in any way, you can file a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this authority is the Data Protection Authority.
